Construction Management and Technology Program

Construction Management and Technology (CMAT) Program Director Jennifer Shane earned the Iowa State University Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department’s Charles W. Schafer Award for Excellence in Teaching, Research, and Service in 2025.

Shane is also the W.A. Klinger Chair in the CCEE Department.

The Charles W. Schafer Award for Excellence in Teaching, Research, and Service is a CCEE department award used to promote excellence in teaching, research, and service by junior faculty members. The CCEE Awards Committee reviews qualified faculty members and submits its recommendations to the department chair, who ultimately selects the recipients. Two awards are made per year to faculty members.

Institute for Transportation-affiliated CCEE faculty received one of the awards in 2024 and both awards in 2023.
